Wilson unveils two 3D-printed pickleball rackets

2022-09-17

Sporting goods brand Wilson has released two 3D-printed pickleball racquets - a silent racquet and a custom racquet.

Pickleball is a sport that is rapidly emerging in the United States. It can be said that it is a mixture of tennis, badminton and table tennis.

The mute racket is a racket whose surface is composed of a lattice structure. The biggest advantage is that it can reduce the resonance generated by the racket when hitting the ball, thereby reducing the impact sound when hitting the ball. The current pickle rackets are mainly made of wooden boards and plastic boards, and the sound of hitting the ball is still relatively loud. Custom rackets can be tailored to the player's needs by adjusting the shape of the racket, the size and density of the internal lattice.

It is reported that both of Wilson's rackets are manufactured by Azul 3D's large-scale 3D printer, using special materials developed by Azul 3D, which can provide good performance for the racket.
